Just a normal day at RAF Marham. It has been a long time since I have spent a day at Marham and for the past couple of years I have been intending to do so to get some flying shots of the based Canberra PR9s before they are finally retired. So on the 27th August an early start saw Paul Osborne and I heading north into Suffolk and then Norfolk for our target. The morning was quite active with both visitors and based aircraft, including one Canberra on a sortie. After lunch (which consisted of the traditional burgers cooked on my camping stove!) we were hoping for another Canberra sortie. We were not disappointed as one departed just after 3pm, returning an hour later to spend close on an hour in the circuit! Needless to say the opportunity was not wasted as you can see below. All these shots were taken under the approach to runway 24. This is easily accessible as the minor road running along the eastern edge of the airfield crosses the approach right under the lights. There are plenty of places to pull the car off the road. The pictures below are "thumbnail" images. Click on those of interest to see them full size (approximately 1024 x 700 pixels/75kB
