In this feature I attempt to detail British hangars, primarily those from the 1930s and 1940s that are still such a feature of many active and disused airfields today. There is a page for each type of hangar, complete with photos, dimensions, construction details etc. Two books I have found particularly useful are British Military Airfield Architecture by Paul Francis (PSL 1996, ISBN185260462X) and Britain's Military Airfields 1939-45 by David J. Smith (PSL 1989, ISBN 1852600381). This section is still a work in progress, and more hangars will be added in the near future.
