A couple of people out there said I should run a photo quiz, but I think there's already some good ones out there so I decided to do something different.The idea with my quiz was to give you all a few of weeks to guess the airfield at which the Gate Guardian pictured resides (or resided!).
Ah yes, you were all back on form this month, with an excellent nine entries for RAF Coltishall's Lightning F1A (XM172). Well done to Damien Burke, Paul Crawley, Mike Tighe, Richard Clouting, Mark Bewick, Garry Lakin, Graham Gaff, Kev Darling and Mike Stannard. There were also a few guesses at Wattisham (understandable as it has a similar F1A on the gate) and the ex-Lightning stations of Binbrook and Leconfield.
Unfortunately that is the last gate guard photoquiz - mainly because I've run out of gate guard photographs! I'm thinking about starting a "normal" photoquiz similar to those already in existence; but they are so good (and I don't really have enough time to administer one!) that I'm not so sure. So, for the moment, please accept my apologies for there being no quiz here and indulge yourself in some classic British aircraft by looking at the previous pictures and answers. Then have a go at some of the other excellent quizzes out there.
