Antonov An-225 Mryia at the 1990 Farnborough International Air Show

The An-225 is one of the largest aircraft to ever fly. It was developed to transport the Soviet Union's space shuttle - the Buran. It is an enlarged Antonov An-124 with wing root inserts supporting two further engines, and a twin tail assembly to cater for the Buran and other outside loads carried dorsally. This magnificent aircraft was present at the 1990 Farnborough airshow where I was fortunate enough to take these photographs. Click/tap on the images below to view them full size.
